Three Galway artists supported under Remote Control programme

First the People’s Tree Planting, now the People’s Clean Up of Terryland Forest Park

Community and Environmental campaigners are asking the people of Galway to take part in a litter pick on General Election Day (Sat Feb 8) to help protect the city’s precious land and aquatic mammals, birds and insects that live in its woodlands, rivers and in the seawaters of Galway Bay. It will start at 12pm from the entrance to Terryland Forest Park adjacent to Currys on the Headford Road.

Traditional scythe mowing in Terryland Forest Park this Saturday

This Saturday at 10.30am, July 22, as part of the Galway Fringe Festival, members of Cumann na bhFear (Men's Shed Galway city) and Conservation Volunteers will use traditional hand-held instruments to mow the grasslands at Terryland.

Take part in a free nature walk in Terryland Forest Park

Members of the public are invited to experience the waterways, wildflower meadows, grasslands, and the woods of Terryland Forest Park in a short nature walk on Saturday, May 13, at 10am. Participants are scheduled to meet at the ‘Plots’ playing pitches on Dyke Road, and the walk will take approximately 45 minutes to complete. It is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. The walk is supported by the Terryland Forest Park Alliance, and it aims to increase public awareness of the wonderful rich mix of natural landscapes in the heart of the city.
